I really dislike the term “dog training”. People training for Dogs does what it says on the tin. People just need the knowledge how to tra…
Special needs walks are for dogs that for whatever reason can not be included in the group outings. They may be too young or too old or maybe not…
A half hour option for those who enjoy a more sedate stroll and a sniff. This walk would usually be an on lead street walk.…
Every now and then I need someone to take one of my rescue dogs, Manolo out who has various issues, so needs one to one handling. Having trolled many dog walking websites I eventually came across Hounds on the Downs who offer a half hour walk on a one to one basis, perfect just what I was looking for. I subsequently made contact with the dog walker, Sarah who arranged to meet a few days before I needed my dog to be taken out. She arrived as agreed equipped with some homemade dogs treats which were thoroughly enjoyed by Manolo . I explained what his issues were which were taken on board. Sarah very kindly agreed to walk the route that I usually walk Manolo, so that when he was taken out it would be familiar ground for him. During the trial walk, Sarah was totally switched on, keeping an eye out at all times for the things that I had said frighten Manolo, one being a runner, who caught me by surprise. Manolo warmed to Sarah straight away regardless of his issues, so obviously picked up on the fact that she is a true dog lover. The trial walk was a great success which filled me with confidence to let Sarah walk him.
On the day of Manolos first walk, my Mother accompanied Sarah who got a glowing report. She kept him on a loose lead but under control at all times, equipped with treats should they be required. She avoided a large Husky on route as requested as it has been known for the two to get into a confrontational situation and avoided several members of the public to be sure Manolo was kept safe at all times. Sarah definitely knows what she is doing with dogs, which is a great relief to me as Manolo has issues having been rescued. As a result I shall be recommending Sarah to anyone I know who needs their dog walked as she did a fab job.
When I first met Sarah I knew she was the right person for us to trust with our now year old cane corso Clay.
He is a large dog (7.5st) and she has him under control and wanting to learn new commands.
He loves going on walks with Sarah and were extremely happy with the service Sarah provides.
Thank you Sarah! Great advice just need to train the hubby now! X
Many thanks Sarah.
Three sessions and Max has been absolutely brilliant on our holiday can’t wait to see what else you can teach him.
We used Sarah last year to help with our puppy Dexter.
He was a was a bit of trouble as a youngster. She helped us learn how to understand what he was doing and why he was doing it.
Now as an adult he is a real joy to own and care for. I would highly recommend Sarah for puppy training.
I would highly recommend Sarah as a dog walker.
Our dogs completely adore her and she has a great rapport with them both.
We find that she is really very accommodating to our needs for them.
Meg loves going out with Sarah.
She especially loves the homemade peanut butter and banana treats that she brings along too.
It is good to find a trusted dog walker that thinks of your dogs needs and not just let them off the lead and run riot !!
We have known Sarah for roughly fifteen years and in all that time she has walked and cared for many of our dogs on many different occasions.
She is responsible and trustworthy and we wouldn’t hesitate in recommending her to anyone.

Sarah Bauer walks my dog, she is great, really knowledgeable and will treat your dog as an individual. When I was looking for dog walkers I initially struggled as I our dog was an older semi starved rescue dog who wasn’t used to walks so I needed someone who was aware of her needs.
Sarah has been brilliant, she even gives her a massage on rainy days (my dog hates the rain).
After spending a sunny afternoon in the garden with Sarah and my 3 dogs 1 of which is a 10 week old puppy and a visiting Yorkie I am in ore of her she is amazing she had all four dogs sitting at her feet doing her every bidding!! I could watch her all day Sarah is brilliant with animals and have followed her advice many times. Happy dogs happy me happy house oh and she’s great with a camera too so if you have the pleasure of Sarah looking after your furry buddies they couldn’t be in any better hands.. Well done Sarah your a star.
